Greenfest 2011

GreenFest 2011, sponsored by Mills 50, Orlando City Commissioner Patty Sheehan, OUC – The Reliable One and My Green CFE, will be held Saturday, March 19 from 9am until 3pm in the parking lot of the Plaza Theatre, 425 N. Bumby Avenue.

Vendors will be on hand selling all natural soaps & lotions, soy candles, wine bottle lamps, handmade jewelry, produce, hummus, baklava, empanadas, arepas and more.  GreenFest features a backyard compost bin and rain barrel truckload sale.  Earth Machines will be sold for $47 and Systerns will be sold for $58.  Checks & credit cards accepted.  No cash.  For more information, e-mail: director@mills50.org or call 407-421-9005.

GreenFest was a success, with almost 900 Earth Machines and Systerns sold. Mills 50 Main Street is making plans to sponsor another GreenFest in March, 2011.

Call For Greenfest 2010 Vendors and Sponsors

Mills 50 Main Street Program and Commissioner Patty Sheehan’s office of The City of Orlando, in partnership with Orlando Utility Commission are happy to present the first ever, Mills50 GreenFest 2010 on Saturday, November 13, 2010, 9am – 3pm on Thornton Avenue between Canton and Colonial. The GreenFest will include a truckload sale featuring home composters, water cisterns and multiple booths highlighting the sustainability aspect of many of Orlando’s finest businesses.

Greenfest 2010

Green Fest 2010 is the inaugural sustainability fair by the Mills 50 Main Street District called. The focus of Green Fest 2010 will be on sustainable  products, practices and businesses within and near the district for the benefit of the local community.  The event will focus on local businesses with markets oriented to sustainability including restaurants, life style centers, schools and retailers.  Featured products will included a composter and a cistern that are designed for home use.  These products will be offered at a substantial discount over the normal sales price in an effort to encourage recycling within the community.  The composter and cistern may sell out before the end of the event, so arrive early to assure availability.

Green Fest 2010 is scheduled to take place on the block of Thornton Ave. between Hillcrest Street and Highway 50 (Colonial Ave).  There will be parking available at Hillcrest Elementary School.  The event will be held on November 13th from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
